Savannah, GA CPA Firm | Firm Profile Page | Karp Ronning & Tindol, P.C.

KRT has a long rich history and is one of the oldest CPA firms in Southeast Georgia. Our legacy is the foundation of our future. For it is through our past that we developed the sense of commitment to the community, personal touch, genuineness, fervor to see our clients succeed, and the desire to continually strive for excellence.

In 1922, Mr. A.L. Karp (Larry to his friends) moved to Savannah with the Internal Revenue Service. He married in 1925, and opened an office as a sole-practitioner. Having a great rapport with the IRS, his business began to grow. Back then there were no fax machines, cell phones, computers, or copiers. So in addition to prospecting for clients and serving the needs of clients that he had, he and his new wife answered the phones, typed all correspondence, and managed the office. It was hard work, but eventually, his reputation and relationship with the community grew, and his client base expanded.

But then the Depression hit and the War broke out. Client's businesses and personal lives began to suffer. To maintain his commitment to his clients, fees (which were modest for the time) were reduced, and together they weathered the storm. Many of those earlier clients remain with us today.

After the War, the firm continued to expand. In 1955, Larry's son, Martin, joined the firm. Together father and son continued to build a successful firm that was built on commitment to clients and community. After his father's passing in 1969, Martin continued to carry on the principles that his father instilled.

Today, many years later, we have added more shareholders, enhanced our services, developed specializations in some industries, and increased the number of clients we serve. But even though the years have passed, one thing remains unchanged---our commitment to our community and our clients, our desire to serve our clients' goals and needs, and our compassion to excel in all that we do.
